Supporters Aim To Show That Surveillance Programs Prevent Attacks

The National Security Agency intends to declassify and release information in the coming days on the "dozens" of terrorist attacks prevented by the controversial surveillance programs that have ignited a public firestorm over the past week, NSA Director Keith Alexander said.

"We want to provide the American people the information. I think it's important that you have that information, but we don't want to risk American lives in doing that," Mr. Alexander said after a June 13 classified briefing for the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence.
